Last August, Peru has witnessed the biggest demonstration in its history. And for what reason? To give a voice to Peruvian women!
Indeed, every month in Peru, ten women are murdered by their husband. Yes, 10 women every month! And the Peruvians are sick of this violence against girls and women.
The demonstration took place in the big cities of the country and counted about half a million people. Under the motto “Ni una menos” (not one less), the demonstrators demanded concrete actions and measures from their government to end violence against girls and women and to protect their rights.
When half a million voices raise so that women can finally be heard…
